47-51 from Framework Plan and South Lakefront Access Study

One can observe that there is a conflict between realizing this plan and keeping Pebble Beach, at about the start of the south lakeward bow of Lake Shore Drive, at the dotted line (current shoreline), at and south of the dark splotch there. There are also concerns with pollution and litter collection with so much cove enclosure and the south-facing sand beach. A possible solution might be to shorten the fishing pier (starting it a bit further north), then coming south southeast at the bottom of the bow of what would not be a sand beach to pebble beach (possibly moved out some), then moving east/southeast then north as a sand beach and dune to as proposed. This would also help maintain vistas from the trail and the Drive, with drawback that the park and trail are then very close to the Drive.

The dark line of long dashes is the Lakefront bike trail. We have a copy of the Burnham Framework Plan in the Conference office, call 288-8343 or e-mail hpkcc@aol.com for appointment.
