A Day of Service

With the help of 27 University of Chicago student volunteers, the Nichols Park Advisory Council and the Hyde Park Garden Fair began their fall cleanup of Nichols Park. The rainy afternoon was spent transplanting nepeta, digging up barberry, mulching and weeding the wild flower meadow, thinning the perennial beds, and general cleanup and planting.

Many thanks to the hard-working student volunteers and to the University of Chicago . . . helping make Hyde Park-Kenwood a better neighborhood in which to live.
