left includes the North Fountain. A good sense of the arrangement
of paving blocks and slightly raised beds defined by timbers of recycled
materials can be seen in the drawings at the top of the page. The
Hyde Park Garden Fair Committee of the Hyde Park-Kenwood Community
Conference designed, put in and has maintained these beds since the
north addition to the park was won in the late 80's--The gardens would not have been created without the community commitment and sweat equity. IN July, 2003, The Committee put in a formal bid to tend the new gardens to be built in conjunction with the Murray school/park gym addition. The Southeast Region has decided to source-out care of all the gardens. A collaborative agreement was reached between the Garden Fair and the contractor in 2004, but incomplete design plans and water main breakage have prevented full realization of the formal garden in 2004. |
