Standing Meetings

The Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference Board of Directors meets on the first Thursday of the month, 7:00 p.m., at the 55th Street Hyde Park Cooperative Society lower meeting room, 1526 East 55th Street. Hyde Park Bank Bldg., 4th Floor Conf. room, 7 pm (Oct. 2 social precedes at 6:30)

TIF Advisory Council-53rd St. Tax Increment Financing District. Meets on the second Monday of September, November, January, March, May, and July. 7 p.m. at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, 5480 S. Kenwood.

CAPS (Community Alternative Policing Strategy) meetings for beat 2124 only have moved to 6 pm! (general calendar- call 21st District community policing office for exceptions, especially for summer and holiday seasons-- 312 747-8340 or 2930). Usual meeting time is 7 p.m. Sgt. Scott Oberg is the District overseer of CAPS and HPKCC liaison for CAPS information. Learn about community policing in the City of Chicago/Police Department website. Note: "21" means District 021, the next digit series: "2" is North Kenwood-Oakland and meets on various TUESDAYS, "3" is Hyde Park and South Kenwood and meets on various THURSDAYS. No meetings in December.

The East Hyde Park Committee normally meets on 3rd Wednesdays, 8:00 A.M., at Montgomery Place, 5550 South Shore Drive. Reports and open discussion with officials, agencies, institutions and stakeholder organizations. No meetings until December 2007. No summer meetings. Various months skipped- check this calendar.

Fourth Ward Democratic meeting. 4th Saturdays, 10 am, Monumental Baptist Church, 729 E. Oakwood Blvd. Often has informational speakers esp. from government offices. 773 536-8103.

The Fourth Ward holds free legal assistance, 3 lawyers, during Ward Night, every Thursday except first of the month. 4659 S. Cottage Grove until 8:30 pm.
