Dear Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference Member or Community Resident:

I am writing to ask you to join us or renew your membership and support the programs of HPKCC

At our September, 2009 Annual Meeting we celebrated our 60th Anniversary. That feat would not have been possible without the support of our members. Over the course of six decades, the Conference has tackled many diverse programs and initiatives.

In 2009 alone, Our Board of Directors received program and committee reports on the following:

• HPKCC Forum "Challenging the Next Decade"
• Development Projects, including Harper Court and the Shoreland Hotel
• Creation of a Southside Preservation Action Fund that conducted a structural engineering assessment of the Harper Theater Buildings
• Parks, Transit, and Schools Priorities
• Hyde Park Garden Fair (50th Anniversary)
• Hyde Park Used-Book Sale
• Friends of the Blackstone Library Programs
• Communications in the Conference Reporter and website (www.hydepark.org)

These are just some of the recent examples where HPKCC is supporting its mission to "serve the community as a watchdog, independent voice, and clearing house in the community's ongoing conversation and decision about those maters which affect and define community life."

Please take a minute take or renew membership and permit HPKCC to serve the community for another year.
