Hyde Park-Kenwood has a rich tradition of diversity and vitality that is reflected in the architecture of its homes. Hundreds of splendid examples of Nineteenth and early Twentieth Century domestic architecture tell the story of our south side neighborhood's growth from a pastoral prairie settlement to a thriving urban community. One can hardly find another same-size slice of the city with as many outstanding examples of nearly every style and period of Chicago architecture.
The Hyde Park-Kenwood House and Garden Tour permits participants an opportunity to visit an array of homes and gardens for which the lakeside community is famous while helping the important work of the Neighborhood Club. (Read more about the Club in News from Collaborers in the Community page.
